Water therapy is extra effective because humans are 70% water. One hour of water massage is equal to a 2-hour table massage.
Water Therapy, aka Watsu
Water Therapy, or Watsu, is a form of a therapeutic water massage performed in warm water. It has shiatsu (Asian) massage elements interwoven throughout the experience.
The client is moved through warm water in such a way that the pressure of the water both strengthen and releases the muscles in a unique manner. Watsu emphasizes the use of myofascial release, stretching, limb “tremoring”, as well as 5,000 year old pre-tested meridian energy work. The flow of ones body through the water is synched with the clients breath promoting a deep sense of release and relaxation.
